Jayalalithaa sacks Natham Viswanathan from two party posts


Chennai, Sep 12 (IANS): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Monday removed senior leader and former Electricty Minister Natham R. Viswanathan from key party posts.

In a statement issued here, Jayalalithaa said Viswanathan was removed from the posts of AIADMK's Organisation Secretary and the party's communication group.

No reason was given for the change.

According to reports, the Income Tax Department was conducting raids in around 40 places, including Viswanathan's residence in Dindigul, around 440 km from here.
