Madikeri, Sep 14: Police personnel, who raided a home stay being run near Kushalnagar in the district on Sunday September 11, arrested four persons. They have been charged with running a brothel.
Four persons, Madhu, Pramod, Rajeev K, and Home stay owner, Prasanna, stand arrested. One of the arrested persons, Rajeev K, an advocate by profession, is said to be the son of JDS MLA from Turuvekere, MT Krishnappa. But the police have not confirmed whether this information is true. District superintendent of police, Rajendra Prasad, while confirming that four persons have been arrested, added that he does now know whether one of the arrested, Rajeev, is the son of a legislator or not.
The women found in their company were rescued and provided shelter at the orphanage at Kudige near Kushalnagar.
All the four persons have been remanded to judicial custody and their bail applications will be taken up at the court at Kushalnagar on September 16. The police had been sounded by someone about the fact that a brothel was being run in the said homestay located at Chikkabetageri village.
