Mangaluru, Sep 15: Panambur police have arrested two suspects with regard to the dead body of a man found in a suspicious manner at Panambur on September 6. Illicit relationship is said to be the cause for the murder.
The suspects are Haveri Ranebennur residents Nagaraja Govindappa Lamani (24) and Veeresh Shivappa Lamani.

The dead body of Ranebennur Gundenahalli resident Rekhappa alias Rakesh Lamani (26) was found in a murdered state beside NH66 in Panambur police station limits. It is said that the illicit relationship between accused Nagaraja and Papi alias Savithri, the wife of the deceased Rakesh Lamani is the cause of the murder. Rakesh who came to know of the relationship had said that he will go to his hometown.
Nagaraj who suspected that Rakesh will create trouble if he reaches hometown, decided to kill Rakesh with the help of friend Veeresh. Nagaraj went to Veeresh and asked him to accompany him to reach Rakesh till the bus stand. All of them started at 6 pm from Hosangadi and consumed liquor at Rajesh bar near State Bank, Mangaluru. They made Rakesh drink as much as he could lose his sense and also bought biryani as Rakesh wanted it.
After that the duo brought Rakesh to Panambur beach in an auto rickshaw. The driver left when the three men got down from the auto rickshaw.
As there few people on the road because it was Sunday, the suspects realized that it is a suitable place to kill Rakesh. They held Rakesh’s neck, turned him and pushed him over to a place where the place was filled with water. They squeezed his throat and threw a concrete boulder on his face to kill him. The suspects confessed during investigations that they left only after making sure that Rakesh died after throwing the boulder three times on him.
