Udupi, Sep 15: City police with the help of railway police foiled an attempt by Pro-Kannada activists to stop train here on Thursday, September 15. The activists were protesting the Supreme Court order of release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.

Around 50 Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists came to railway station to stop the Mangaluru- Madgao intercity train from proceeding further towards Madgao. But the city police personnel and railway police stopped them from entering railway station and took them away from the spot.

It is said that activists have been taken to Manipal police station.

The train continued its journey without any impediment.

Heavy security personnel were seen at the railway station including KSRP force.

Crazy people, they should understand it's a SC order, if some can pray for judgement on Yetthinahole project, I don't understand why those or these can pray for abundant rains and why not offer prayers for the wisdom of politicians who authorize these kind of projects.

Well done by police. Why unnecessarily trouble the ongoing passengers? Where were these so-called Pro-Kannada activists or Karnataka Rakshana Vedike when people of Tulu Nadu were protesting against the Yettinahole Project?

then why we need CM, let PM only rule this state bcoz for everything we are pointing on PM. we are not thinking about inability of our CM. it could be Mayadayi, Kalasabhanduri, Yettinahole, Kaveri... everywhere we only creating problem then asking PM to correct it.

first we need to understand the ground reality. TN CM Jayalalitha take care of their farmers. she is thinking about future & accordingly planed to utilise the water till December by get release the water from Kaveri-KRS for samba crop & store the water for future irrigation. but what about Karnataka administration? we are unable to understand the ground reality. how much water available in the dam & how much required for farmers, drinking purpose & how much dead storage & how much will dry till December. these correct details we don't have. instead, in a affidavit we told that we will release 10000 cusec water to TN. it indirectly indicating that Karnataka having the water. this is the maim reason for present situation.
