Accused Rakesh
Place where body was found
Rajish was missing from September 5 and his body was found in a well near Nelliat temple on national highway on September 14.
Rakesh had gone to a gulf country after the incident. The police, who had information that he will be returning after a week, arrested him at Kozhikode airport as he arrived on Thursday, September 15.
Both the accused and the deceased were friends. Rakesh was in love with the wife of a government employee. He had married later after hiding his affair but continued to meet the woman even after his marriage.
The wife of Rakesh came to know of her husband’s illicit relationship
but Rakesh did not stop meeting the woman. Therefore their families of Rakesh and his wife intervened and the marriage ended in divorce.
Rajish had the telephone number of the wife of government staff. He too developed relationship with the woman within a few days. Meanwhile as Rakesh went to the gulf, the woman broke the friendship. She was not responding to his phone calls after that. Rakesh who returned to home town came to know of the relationship maintained by her with Rajish. Upon knowing about this, he hatched a conspiracy to kill Rajish.
Rakesh hired a car and killed Rajish in the car on September 5. He later threw Rajish in the well. Police have seized the car now.
Investigations are on.
