Udupi, Dec 16: “Internet has equipped mankind to utilize software technology in all possible ways”, elucidated software engineer Srinivas Kunte here, on Saturday Dec 15.
Kunte was speaking on the topic of “Kannada and Computers” at the 74th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana at the Shivaram Karantha Vedike. On the occasion he made an ardent plea to the Karnataka government to introduce all infrastructures available in English software and also compulsorily install Nudi software in all computers, which are produced in Karnataka.
Kunte opined that the best way to aid the computerization of Kannada language would be to have a popularized optical character computerized recognizing system and an online computer system. “Unicode has made it possible to introduce all languages in the computers and Kannada is no exception,” pointed out A Satyanarayana from Ganaka Yantra.
