Mangaluru, Sep 18: Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary performed 'Urulu Seve' at Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara temple, here on Sunday September 18 seeking the blessings of God for justice for state in Cauvery interstate water dispute.
Prior to Urulu Seve, Poojary offered prayers to the deities in the temple and said “May the verdict of Supreme Court come in favour of Karnataka. There are many water disputes in the country, including Cauvery Water dispute. May there be solutions for all these disputes soon. And also the verdict on Nethravati River comes in favor of Dakshina Kannada."
Marbles, in the temple premises where Poojary performed Urulu Seve, were hot. Poojary is 79.
Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo, Vijayakumar Shetty and others were present.
After his Urulu Seve, B Janardhana Poojary addressing the press meet said "Let the supreme court verdict come in favour of people. So that verdict would not hurt the people of three states. If the verdict is anti people, it will hurt people. If there is any chance of violence, It will be a threat to the unity of this country. And people react aggressively against each other, it will lead to violence. Hence, verdict should be in favour of all. There is no political interest in this prayer.”
CM has greater responsibility
On chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah, Poojary said "CM has greater responsibility in preserving the unity of this nation. If he fails, no one will rescue our state. Hence, I prayed to Almighty to give wisdom to him to take proper decision. CM should make use of this opportunity. Power should not be important to take a wise decision. It is golden opportunity to CM. Narayana Guru had constructed this temple in favor of all. CM should also follow principles of Narayana Guru. The protection of Indian republic is important. All political representatives spoke to save their chairs. None has spoken in favor of people. But, Siddaramaiah can create history by being good to people.”
Poojary also urged the CM to provide all information and statistics to the committee of Supreme Court himself.
DySP Ganapati case
Reacting to CID filing the B report to the court in the DYSP Ganapathi suicide case, Poojary said "Ganapathi had giving dying declaration. A person, who is going to die, never lies. What is the value of dying declaration? George and two officers are the main accused in this case. CID did the things as per the direction from the CM. They had no other options.
And when questioned about the implications if George is inducted again into the cabinet, Poojary said “If it is done, then Congress party will not survive."
Poojary also said that Supreme Court should review this case.
Anupama Shenoy
Commenting on former DySP Anupama Shenoy, Poojary said "It is not wrong if she is allowed to perform her duty again. As police officer and women, she fought for justice."
