SC asks Centre to set up Cauvery Management Board, tells State to release 6K cusecs to TN

New Delhi, Sep 20 (Agencies): The Supreme Court directed the centre on Tuesday to set up Cauvery Water Management Board in four weeks.

It also directed Karnataka to release 6000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu per day from Wednesday till September 27.

The Cauvery Supervisory Committee had on Monday ordered Karnataka to release 3,000 cusecs water per day to Tamil Nadu between September 21 and September 30.

The order had been criticised by farmers and political parties in Tamil Nadu as "insufficient" and "disappointing."

Details awaited.

Supreme court of India should consider the average rainfall in the the catchment area before asking for excessive release of water.

In consecutive two years Karnataka has received deficit of rainfall.
The order should not be forced without logical calculation.

Water is everyone's necessity.Should be shared proposition to the rainfall.
