Dubai, Sep 22: The Ferarites Family celebrated Monti Fest (Nativity Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary) with great devotion on September 16 at Winny’s Restaurant in Karama, here in the presence of a large gathering.

The celebration began with an introduction to the feast day by Lawrence Cutinha. He briefed the gathering about the importance of Monti Fest. Clara Fernandes conducted the prayer session and Rosetta Pereira read the Word of God. Youth and elders joined in the singing of the hymn 'Sakkad Sangatha Mellyam'. Norbert Sequeira welcomed the guests and requested all Ferar parishioners who live in the UAE to come together as one family and participate in all the activities organized by them throughout the year. He also sent out a warm note of gratitude to all the supporters of Ferarites family for their valuable support.

He also took the privilege to thank all who were present and appreciated the sincere efforts of all members who helped to make the day a great success.

Lawrence Cutinha, kept the audience smiling with his entertaining games and jokes. The programme continued with variety entertainment such as dances and various spot games. The Ferarites own upcoming dancers brought forth many talents, who presented their skills in dancing. Andrea Fernandes and Alvira Saldanha danced to the Hindi mix songs, and a stunning dance performance was given by Kenisha Sequeira and Rydell Tauro through Bollywood mix songs who really entertained the crowd.

The traditional celebration commenced with a procession followed by showering of flowers to the bambino of Mother Mary along with the song Moryek Hogaolsia. Children holding flower baskets offered flowers to Mother Mary. Blessed Novem was served to the gathering. A sumptuous traditional vegetarian meal and vorn were served to all on banana leaves by Winny’s Restaurant.

Leslie Pinto and Rosette Pereira efficiently conducted Housie Housie. Vincent Pereira and Leslie Fernandes distributed the prizes to the winners and honored the children who entertained the crowd throughout the programme. Prakash Peris and Alwyn Fernandes conducted the raffle draw. Joseph Mathias picked the lucky coupons for the raffle draw. Four attractive prizes were distributed to the lucky winners.

Lawrence Cutinha conducted the whole programme and kept the celebration spirit on. Due to the unstinted and selfless efforts put in by the members with a feeling of oneness, the Ferarites were fortunate to have an opportunity to celebrate Monti Fest for all these years.

Ferarites family once again, would like to thank all the well wishers, who supported this event. The guests left the venue with a feeling of happiness and cheer. The programme concluded with a baila dance.
