Bangalore, Dec 18: Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was on Tuesday admitted to a private super specialty hospital for a routine medical check-up.
"Kumaraswamy will undergo a routine medical check up at the hospital for few days," Wockhardt Hospital Associate Vice-President Dr Lloyd Nazareth said.
Sources close to Kumaraswamy said that he has been under stress in the wake of the political developments that swept the state in the last three months when the JD-S-BJP government led-by him collapsed after the BJP pulled out of the alliance in October.
On Tuesday morning he complained of chest pain and breathing difficulties. when he complained of chest pain, according to family sources. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Sources said Kumaraswamy would undergo angioplasty on Wednesday. He would be discharged after 10 days, the sources added.
On an earlier occasion, while travelling in a helicopter, Kuma-raswamy had to return to Bangalore as he experienced chest pain midway.
The JD-S is in the grip of rebellion with a section of party men headed by senior leader M P Prakash breaking away from the party.
Unfazed by the developments in his party, Kumaraswamy who celebrated his 49th birthday on Sunday last, has announced plans to launch the JD(S)'s poll campaign on January one.
The state will be facing mid-term polls early next year.
