Mangaluru, Sep 22:"Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah has called all party meeting on Cauvery to discuss the future course of action. I appreciate him for that. But BJP spokesperson Shaina NC said that Karnataka has to follow the Supreme Court order. B S Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar are creating confusion among the people. Why cannot all come with single voice in on Cauvery issue?”said former union minister B Janardhana Poojary.
He was addressing the press meet at press club here on Thursday, September 22.
Addressing Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, he said “Are you not the PM of this country? What is your responsibility? Prime Ministers like Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi and others including Atal Bihar Vajpayee have responded on the Cauvery issue. Tell the country whether you will solve this problem or not because this is your duty.”
"There is provision in India constitution article 262 make use of it. All members of parliament in the state should resign and create constitutional crisis to solve this Cauvery issue. Power is not permanent," he added.
Poojary also advised the state government to drop the Yettinahole project.
Commenting on Ibrahim Kodijal who criticized him, Poojary said "When these people criticize me, CM rewards them. Ibrahim Kodijal wants power. He wants to be MUDA chairman again,”
Taking on CM's media advisor Dinesh Amin Mattu, Poojary said "Mattu was sidelined by the CM. Mattu started criticizing me hence yesterday he was seen with the CM. Those who criticize me get reward from CM this way,”
Referring to KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao who had said that disciplinary action would taken against him, Poojary said "I and his father belonged to the same era during the Indira Gandhi regime. Dinesh Gundu Rao wanted George from Bengaluru to be MP from Udupi but I wanted Oscar Fernandes. What power does he have to take disciplinary action against me? He is only Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president while All India Congress Committee (AICC) has to initiate action. I will not let this go until he apologizes to me for his statement against me.”
Kallige Tharanath Shetty, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty and others were present.
