Mangalore, Dec 19: Taluk Panchayat (TP) members have urged the locals to file case against the officers who are involved in forcible acquisition of agricultural land, in order to set up Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ), Petroleum and Petrochemicals Investment Zone, Export Zone and Information Technology (IT) Parks in the outskirts of the city.

Taluk Panchayat members expressed anguish over the officers of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), who are involved in acquisition of agricultural land against the Supreme Court (SC) verdict, during the meeting which was chaired by TP president, Srimala Hegde.

Although, the land acquisition process is going on at Baddoor which comes under the jurisdiction of Thenka Yedapadav, the locals have no idea for what purpose it is being done, complained Prathviraj and objected the connivance of officers in this regard.

TP president, advised the officers of KIADB, to provide all the information on the project to the members of Ganjimat and Thenka Yermal Gram Panchayats (GP).

TP vice-president, Suresh Shetty was also present.  TP chief executive officer, Shantharaj conducted the proceedings.
