Udupi, Dec 21: Former MLA Vatal Nagaraj has urged the administration to hold elections for state legislative assembly in February 2008.
Speaking to the media persons he said that the elections should not be delayed beyond February. He also said that there will be a complete collapse of administration and developmental works if President’s rule is extended for long.
“There are no MLA’s to take care of the grievances of the people whom they can approach. Three appointed advisers of the government cannot take the responsibility of 224 MLAs,” he added.
It is necessary that the Governor should take all political parties and other important organizations into confidence in formulating the Budget. “A few former MLAs are thinking of floating an alternative forum for better administration. He also said that he would continue to fight for the farmers against the SEZ issue.
