Luknow: Two Terrorists Linked to UP Blasts Arrested

LUCKNOW, Dec 22: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday arrested two militants, suspected to have been involved in the Nov 23 serial blasts at local courts in Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow that left 13 dead, from Barabanki in the eastern part of the state.

Officials said Khalid and Tarik were arrested near the railway station in Barabanki and explosives were recovered from them.

Senior Superintendent of Police (STF) Amitabh Yash said the arrested militants were members of Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami (HuJi).

He added that the duo is suspected to have been instrumental in carrying out the blasts last month in which 80 people were wounded.
