Judicial inquiry in Gadoli ‘fake encounter’

Mumbai, Oct 1 (TOI): A magistrate court on Friday ordered a judicial inquiry into the alleged fake encounter of gangster Sandeep Gadoli in an Andheri hotel by Gurgaon cops in February.

The order comes after Gadoli's sister Sudeh Kataria moved an application, through advocate Tanveer Nizam, seeking the inquiry, while stating that in case of death in police firing, a magisterial inquiry must be held.

Nizam said with the inquiry most of the lacuna left by the SIT, such as delay in filing FIR and not arresting all the accused persons including inspector Amit Kumar and other other cops, will be exposed. "Also, all evidences and CCTV footage will be taken in the judicial custody to ensure they are not tampered with by the police."
