Himachal CM pays tribute to Gandhi, Shastri


Shimla, Oct 2 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Sunday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri here on their birth anniversaries.

He said the nation was indebted to both the leaders for the nation building.

The Chief Minister said following their ideals in true spirit was the best tribute to them.

At a function on the Ridge, the Chief Minister, who was accompanied by cabinet colleagues Vidya Stokes and Thakur Singh Bharmouri, administered an oath of 'Swachh Bharat and Swachh Himachal' or clean India and clean Himachal to the gathering.

October 2 is the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who is also known as the "Father of the Nation".
