Ghaziabad's proclaimed offender nabbed in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 2 (IANS): A man wanted to stand trial in several cases of cheating, who has been declared a proclaimed offender, was arrested on Sunday, the city police said.

Rajender Mittal, a 66-year-old resident of Delhi's suburban Ghaziabad town in Uttar Pradesh, was declared a proclaimed offender by a Delhi court in 2013 and was evading his conviction.

"The crime branch is also verifying his involvement in other crimes and his previous antecedents," said Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav.
