Modi meets Singapore PM


New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who arrived here on Monday on a five-day bilateral visit to India.

"The warmth of an Asian friendship. PM @narendramodi welcomes PM @leehsienloong of Singapore at Hyderabad House," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted along with pictures.

Modi and Lee will hold bilateral discussions, following which agreements will be signed between the two sides.

Earlier on Tuesday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Lee.

"First engagement for an honoured guest from the East. EAM @SushmaSwaraj calls on PM @leehsienloong of Singapore in Delhi," Swarup said in a separate tweet.

On Wednesday, Lee will call on President Pranab Mukherjee before leaving for Udaipur.

The Singapore Prime Minister is being accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes Minister of Trade and Industry S. Iswaran; Acting Minister of Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Senior Minister of State for Defence Ong Ye Kung; Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence & Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Maliki Bin Osman; and Members of Parliament Denise Phua and Vikram Nair.
