Situation still 'live' after surgical strikes: IAF chief

New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS): The situation on the frontier with Pakistan is still "live" after the surgical strikes on terrorist launch pads by the Indian Army across the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the IAF chief said Tuesday, adding that the force is fully capable of handling any eventuality, including a two-front war.

"Things are still live," Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha said while addressing the annual Indian Air Force press conference ahead of Air Force Day on October 8 but refused to answer questions on last week's surgical strikes.

Asked about IAF's preparedness in case of a two-front war, Raha said: "we are always ready and we will be ready".

He said the IAF had adequate resources to take on any challenge.
