Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (RD)

Mangalore, Dec 27: Janata Darshan, a public grievances programme chaired by district deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao will be held every Saturday, except government holidays.

At its first meeting held recently, a total of 41 public grievances were received.  It is a district level programme wherein the residents living across thedistrict are entitled to avail the services.

The members of the public submitted their grievances on irregular drinking water supply, irregularity in issuing ration cards, title deeds, road repairs in their locality, and other issues pertaining to the city corporation.

The public grievances programme should also be held at rural areas across the district where there are innumerable issues to resolve.  If not the programme is likely to be centered on urban issues only, which was revealed at the debut meeting.

The success of district level ‘Janata Darshan’ would be determined on how efficiently the grievances submitted during the first meeting are resolved.
