Thai opposition activist leader jailed

Bangkok, Oct 11 (IANS): A Thai opposition activist was jailed on Tuesday for violating his bail conditions.

The court ruled that United Front for Democracy chief Jatuporn Prompan breached the preconditions of his temporary release, Efe news reported.

The activist is among four other leaders who got bail in 2011 following their arrests in 2010 for leading an anti-government protest and for which they face charges of inciting terrorism.

However, unlike Jatuporn, the other four were deemed to have made comments in line with their legal rights and their bails were not revoked.
