Bangalore: Man Poses as Techie, Cons Firm

Bangalore, Dec 29: Posing as a techie, a man cheated a money-changing firm of Rs 30,000. He gave them two cheques and took $750 in exchange. The cheques bounced and the man is reportedly absconding.

S Satyanath, manager (operations), Weizmann Forex Limited, has filed a complaint with Mahadevapura police.

Con job

According to Satyanath, Shashidhar had approached the firm, seeking 750 USD. He gave them cheques for Rs 16,040 and Rs 14,035. He said he was an employee of Nextgen Tech in Whitefield.

Weizmann Forex gave him 750 USD and presented the cheques for encashment, but both the cheques bounced. They also discovered that the address he had given them and the bank was fake. The company he said he worked for no longer exists. The forex firm has sought police help to trace Shashidhar.
