Plan to direct two more films: Kodi Ramakrishna

Chennai, Oct 16 (IANS): Veteran director Kodi Ramakrishna, who has 137 films to his credit in his over three-decade long career, says he is not yet going to call it quits as he has plans to direct two more projects.

"I have already started work on the biopic of Puttaparthi Sai Baba. That apart, I have two more projects in the pipeline. I can't picture myself staying idle. As long as I'm physically fit to direct, I will continue making films," Ramakrishna told IANS.

Known for delivering blockbusters such as "Ankusam", "Ammoru" and "Arundhati", his latest multi-lingual directorial "Shivanagam" released in cinemas on October 14.

Talking about his biopic on Sathya Sai Babaof Puttaparthi, he said: "We have already completed 40 per cent of the shoot. In another five to six months, we should be able to wrap up the project. Sreejith plays Sai Baba, and he is amazing in the role. The film also features several members from Sai Baba's mission."

Popular Malayalam star Dileep was initially stoked about playing the godman.

"Dileep is a great actor but he is a bigger star. He was really interested to be part of the project. I feared his star image might come in the way of playing Sai Baba. Hence, I decided to go with someone who is not relatively known to everybody. Sreejith is not so popular but he is a talented actor," he said.

The film will track the journey of Puttaparthi Sai Baba from the time he was a 10-day boy till his death.
