Mangaluru, Oct 18: Famous Konkani singer of yesteryears, Leslie D’Cunha died on Tuesday, October 18 due to heart attack.
Leslie was 53. Hailing from Angelore parish in city, he leaves behind wife Ruth and two children.

Leslie was a famous singer in the early 80s when Konkani music was going through a changing phase. He sang for ‘Paradela’ ‘Ranga Tharang’ and ‘Mandd Sobhann’. He was a lead singer with Mandd Sobhann for few years in its initial stage and took part in shows as well as recordings. He was well known for the singing of hit songs ‘Sudsude Revencher’ and 'Tuvem Dil'lem Utor' penned by Konkani poets Chafra and Melvyn Rodrigues and set to music by Eric Ozario.
After shifting to Middle East for his livelihood, he was not very active in singing though he remained a music lover.
Leslie had come back to homeland four years back and was involved in real estate business which he ran from office in Bendoorwell.
