Russia completes military network for classified data exchange

Moscow, Oct 19 (IANS): The Russian armed forces have completed the development of a military network for classified data exchange.

"The military network is not connected to the global Internet, and all the computers connected to it are protected from any uncertified flash drives and external hard drives," Xinhua news agency cited a media report as saying on Wednesday.

The network also includes an e-mail service that allows transfer of classified information, including documents with a "Classified" label, it said.

All work was completed by the end of the summer 2016, and the network is now in full operation.
