Kasargod, Oct 23: In connection with the finding of the body of Fayisa (24) hanging from a rope at her husband's home in Kambaru Laxamveedu, her husband, Sadiq, stands arrested. Sadiq is employed in Thailand.
Fayisa from Kinningar near Mulleriya had married Sadiq a year back. After Fayisa, who was into the fifth month of her pregnancy, hanged herself, family members of her husband had shifted her to hospital and informed her parents over phone. As soon as Fayisa's parents arrived, her husband's family members went away in a hurry, it is said. Doctors said that Fayisa had died before reaching the hospital.
At the sight of her daughter's body, Fayisa's mother collapsed to the ground. She stands hospitalized. Relatives of the victim said that Fayisa chose to end her life, having been fed up by the harassment at the hands of in-laws to bring more dowry.
