Clinton's achievements are ahead of her: Streep

Tokyo, Oct 24 (IANS): Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep says she was "flattered to hear" that US Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton once suggested that Streep would be her choice to portray her in a movie.

Streep says Clinton's great achievements are ahead of her.

Streep expressed her views when she attended the Tokyo International Film Festival here on Monday ahead of the premiere of Stephen Frears' "Florence Foster Jenkins", which will open the festival on Tuesday, reports variey.com.

During a press meet, Streep was told that Clinton had once suggested that Streep would be her choice to portray her in a movie.

To that, she said: "I'm very flattered to hear that. But I'll have to wait for that role. All her great achievements are ahead of her. This (US presidential) election cannot come soon enough. We've been very burdened by it."

Streep also said that she is "currently unemployed" and looking up to new projects.
