Indian Army retaliates for soldier's mutilation, destroys four Pakistani posts

Srinagar, Oct 30 (IANS): A day after an Indian soldier's body was mutilated by terrorists who escaped back into Pakistani side under covering fire from Pakistani troops, the Indian army said on Saturday it had hit back, destroying four Pakistani posts and inflicting "heavy casualties".

The posts were destroyed in a massive fire assault in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara, said the army's Northern Command.

"Heavy casualties were inflicted on the other side," it said.

Sepoy Mandeep Singh, who was killed in the gunfight with the infiltrators on Friday, was beheaded by the terrorists who fled back to Pakistan-administered Kashmir under covering fire from Pakistan Army.

The Indian Army had said an "appropriate response" will be given.

This is not the first time Pakistan has mutilated the bodies of Indian soldiers.

During the Kargil war in 1999, Captain Saurabh Kalia, Sepoys Arjunram Baswana, Mula Ram Bidiasar, Naresh Singh Sinsinwar, Bhanwar Lal Bagaria and Bhika Ram Mudh of 4 Jat Regiment were captured by Pakistani troops and brutally tortured.

The soldiers had their ear drums pierced with hot iron rods, eyes punctured and genitals cut off. The autopsy of the bodies also revealed that they were burned with cigarettes butts. Their limbs were also chopped off, teeth broken and skull fractured during the torture. Even their nose and lips were sliced off.

In another incident, on January 8, 2013, Pakistani soldiers entered Indian territory in Krishna Ghati sector of the border and killed two Indian soldiers - Lance Naik Hemraj and Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh. Indian officials said both the bodies were mutilated, and Hemraj's body was decapitated.

Just before retiring, former army chief General Bikram Singh, who headed the Indian Army when the incident happened, had said India gave a "befitting reply".

General Dalbir Singh, just after taking over as the Army chief, had then said if a similar incident occurred the Indian Army's response "will be more than adequate in future".

Article 4 of the Third Geneva Convention protects captured military personnel, some guerrilla fighters, and certain civilians. It applies from the moment a prisoner is captured until he or she is released or repatriated. One of the main provisions of the convention makes it illegal to torture prisoners, and states that a prisoner can only be required to give his name, date of birth, rank and service number if applicable.

    A request to army

Any creature in India sitting pretty in its cage which says questionable surgical strike , must be picked up in future surgical strikes and pped across the boarder never to return. There is no point we pay tax and these creatures eat it up and abuse our own army.

I salute and respect our brave jawans for their immense sacrifice. let's not forget that we in turn have to take care of their families. Only then will their sacrifice is worthwhile. We have had Adarsh, Tatra, bofors, Augusta and numerous other scandals where the lives of the soldiers and their families were compromised. Not a single person has been charged. these transgressions amounted to treason and the Modi government should pursue these cases to give justice to the armed forces and the country.

Our army is good enough to defend itself from any countries. Pak can not only inflict some damage and run.

Since, war is not an option for any of the countries in this century, such petty games work for Pak. It is cowardice, but what can you expect from a cowardice.

BJP was talking big and boasting big, all along. It talked as if it will handle pak within 48hrs when it was in opposition. Now, it is like shifting blame from one to other. Situation is getting worse, as enemy has identified the weakness in Modi Govt.

Our brave brothers are fighting at border, risking their life to defend our motherland and to protect us. What do they get in return ? Only promises and assurances from govt. where as our filthy politicians gets everything from common men's tax money. President's salary from 1.5 lac to straight 5 lac ! Once our brave soldier is martyred, their family has to run from pillar to post to get pea nut compensation from govt. Salute you my dear brave heart soldiers. Saastang Pranaam. Happy Diwali to all soldiers and their families.

Our army's courage to fight back the terrorists and destroying Pak posts is worth commendable. I salute them for their act of valour.

No doubt, Pak soldiers are in hand and glove with the terrorists and these  will not allow us to live in peace either. As I always mention, negotiations and peace talks will not help us in anyway. We do certainly need to adopt a tit-for-tat policy by giving them a befitting reply.

It is rightly said "patience is the mother of all virtues" which I do agree. Bible too says "if somebody slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also". But there is a limit for everything. For how long can one remain to be a mute spectator???? When our dear valiant soldiers have laid down their precious lives for us leaving behind their beloved families grief stricken, devastated and heartbroken, can one endure to see their agony and sufferings that they are undergoing. I only pray and wish the Almighty's curse fall on the Pakistan nation, so that they are wiped out from the international map of the world. Along with them people living in our soil and betraying our country, such traitors should as well be perished and totally destroyed.

Right now, another surgical strike is the need of the hour, so that such evil people, the enemy of humanity is totally perished and eliminated from the face of the earth, once and for all.

We have to salute and appreciate our brave soldiers for sacrificing their precious lives fighting the militants/Pak army. It's only because of them our country lives in freedom, peace and wealth. My thoughts and prayers are with their families. You will never be forgotten.

    God bless India!

    Sudheer sir

Presuming that you are serving in armed forces, I just repeat my old message with all due respect.

We Indians have 3 category of people.

    1. Those brave enough will join the armed forces and take oath to protect the land

    2. The second category is vast, consist of people from all faiths and languages. they just love armed forces and stay behind them in every minute. they are thankful and greateful for the sacrifices army makes for protecting them. they try their best to motivate armed forces tangibly or intangibly.

    3. The third and the third class - this is too small a number which makes mockery of the armed forces. This does not have any particular faith or language as such, a random mix... filled with frustration, jealous, hatred and reserving all the love for someone else.. such souls will find great happiness in disagreeing to a sensible message like yours.

Please ignore the third category because it is too nigligible and unlikely to reform.

Who invited the dreaded isi to investigate pathankot?

Ever since 2016 more than 40 soldiers have been martyred due to the in efficiency of fake nationalist party.

Unfortunately, these terror attack is the result of sharing Biryani, Saree and Shawl with impotent Paki leader. They do not understand the language of friendship and peace. They know only language of bullet. No more compromise, no for peace talks, just prove your pre-election speech.

One must respect and salute our Indian soldiers who guard our country from enemies. I was so shocked and equally sad to read that when the soldiers were captured, they had their ear drums pierced with hot iron rods, eyes punctured and genitals cut off. They were also burned with cigarettes butts. Their limbs were also chopped off, teeth broken and skull fractured during the torture. Even their nose and lips were sliced off.

Do we think of our dear and brave soldiers? Once again my respect and salute to each and every our brave soldeir, who guard our country each and every day from the enemies in harsh climate.
