Karkala, Jan 4: Annaul Feat of St Lawrence will be celebrated at St Lawrence Church, Attur, Karkala near here from Tuesday January 29 to Thursday January 31.
The feast schedule is as follows:
Tuesday January 29
The fist mass will be offered at 9.30 am, at 11.30 am the second, at 1.30 pm the mass will be offered in Kannada. The other masses will be offered at 3, 4.30, 8 and 10 pm. Another mass will be offered at 12 am at midnight. At 6 pm the solemn festive mass will be offered by Fr Peter Machado, bishop of Belgaum.
There will be a video film presentation based on life of Holy Mother Theresa, at 2 am.
Wednesday January 30
The fist mass will be offered at 5.30 am in Kannada, at 7 am the second and at 8.30 am the third.
The solemn festive mass will be offered by Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore at 10 am.
The other masses will be offered at 12.30, 2, 3.30, 5, 7, 8.30, 10 and 11.30 pm. At 8.30 pm the mass will be offered in Kannada.
Thursday January 31
The fist mass will be offered at 6.30 am, at 8 am the second.
The solemn festive mass will be offered by Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general, diocese of Mangalore at 10 am.
The other masses will be offered at 12.30, 2.30, 4 and 5.30 pm. At 4 pm the mass will be offered in Kannada.
Other information for pilgrims:
• Feast Novena will start from Sunday January 20 at 8.30 am. Mass followed by novena prayers daily.
• During feast days, special prayers will be offered for the sick.
• Candles, oil and other religious articles will be available at Church stall.
• Donations for various shrine development projects will be accepted at the church stall.
• After every mass, special prayers with laying of hands will be conducted.
• Vehicle movement on feast days (29th, 30th and 31st Jan 2008) are restricted. Pilgrims are requested to respect and follow the traffic rules and park their vehicles in designated parking areas.
• For the sick and aged pilgrims, a special mass and prayer service will be offered at 3:30 pm on Monday January 28 by Fr Basil Vas, parish priest of Bela Church.
