Abu Dhabi, Nov 2: Wilfy Fernandes Kinnigoly/Abu Dhabi a known name in the Konkani music field by his two successful devotional albums “Jezu BallkakKheloian” and “Jezu Mhaka Zai” is all set to release his maiden Konkani songs album “Ye MhojeaBhangara” along with his buddy Ronstan Mascarenhas. They both have written the lyrics and tuned them into beautiful songs.
Golden Melodies - Golden Voice - Golden Words - Golden Era- Golden Memories - Golden Hair – Golden Complexion, Golden Couple - the ubiquitous yellow metal pervades all shades of life and sets the standard of human relationship.“Bhangara” the Konkani word when related to a human person literally means – ‘my precious gold jewel’. Words like‘Beloved’, ‘Darling’, ‘Honey’, ‘Sweet Heart’ fall short of the depth of intensity the Konkani word carries.
Wilfy Fernandes, through this Konkani musical album weighs human relationships with the standard of Gold and therefore titles it “Bhangara”. The album with 8 songs, is packed with intricate human relationships, passionate sentiments and the sublime bond of love. The lyrics of four are penned down by Wilfy himself and the other four are contributed by his buddy Ronstan Mascarenhas.
The title song ‘Ye Mhojea Bhangara’ inked by Ronstan, revolves around a pair of love birds, dreaming a fairy tale future, dancing their way on a moon lit night, under the gaze of the shining stars. The duet song is vocalized by the budding singing star Melrick D’Souza and the evergreen Konkani voice Preema D’Souza.
The restive mind, wants to break free from all the clutches of evil in life, yet finds itselfprisoner of the flesh, in which it has been planted. The fight between mind over matter has been narrated by Wilfy in this (second) song – ‘Mhana’. It finds voice through NihalTauro the new singing sensation in costal Karnataka.
Ronstan lends voice to his own creation – ‘Jo JoBalla’ (third song) in a Lullaby style - the cradle song, where he recognizes the gift of a boy child coming from God, to be the mother’s heart throb and the Father’s dream boy. He wishes that the boy child to be the beacon light for the family and a ruler for the world.
The forth song ‘Daddy’ has been dedicated to a broken family by Wilfy,as he delves in to the emotions of a boy child who longs for his Dad to come home from the distant land where he toils. The child pleads with his mother not to abandon his Dad, for he needs him, as he can go places with him and have fun. Master Joshuavocalizes those intricate and tragic emotions with his lovely voice.
Master Joshua
Ishney, Monal, Lisha, Larisa, Monisha, Lanisha and Delisha, these seven lovely youngsters, born and groomed in this desert land (UAE), express their desire ‘Aasha’(fifth song) to keep their mother tongue Konkani vibrant, to nurture their cultural diversity and be one day absorbed in to the cultural ethos, to which they belong. These seven tender voices, whose native place is from Mangalore and Goa, transform the lyrics penned down by Ronstan into a burning desire as theyuplift the spirit of those Konkani lovers, who cherish, yet miss their rich cultural heritage, the seasonal fruits, culinary delicacies and their mother land – “Konkan”.

The Longing of the wife, for her husband who is employed abroad is the setting for the sixth song – ‘PunvechoChandr Tum’authored and tuned by Wilfy. Just as the full moon night brightens the sky, so does the sweet memories enliven her and give wings to her day dreams. She feels like a blossomed flower without its fragrance, a moving object without its shadow, a human body without its soul. Lydwin with her mesmerizing voice, creates the aura that befits the song.
It is love at first sight for the boy, who in search of his prospective bride lands at a place called Kirem. ‘Veera’ the girl, (so is the title of the seventh song) enchants him, ashe begins to sing her praises and wants her to be his soul mate for ever to be united in the sacred bond of marriage. Ronstan, sketches these sentiments in an immaculate fashion .Anil D’saa fine vocalist, enchants the listeners through this baila number.
A broken relationship, a forlorn life, a bleeding heart, yearning for a glimpse of hope that might connect the broken link, initiate the process of reconciliation and a hopeful reunion, is what Wilfy is presenting in this final song of this album which is penned down and tuned by himself. Melancholy fills the air as he renders this number with the intensity of emotions, that are flowing out of the heart.
