Udupi, Jan 7: Even as the Udupi Paryaya dispute has landed up in court, with some of the devotees filing a suit praying for restricting Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji from performing Srikrishna pooja, an Aikyamatya Yaaga and Vayusthuthi Punsharane were performed under the leadership of Paryaya Krishnapura Mutt pontiff Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji.

The religious programme was organised to pray to God to prevent Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji from ascending the Paryaya Sarvajna Peetha’ and performing Srikrishna pooja by giving him the wisdom.

Admaru Mutt junior pontiff Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji, Palimaru Mutt pontiff Vidyadheesha Theetha Swamiji, Kaniyoor Mutt pontiff Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji, Pejawar Mutt Junior pontiff Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji and Sode Mutt pontiff Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji participated in the Yaga held near the Goshala on the Krishna temple premises.

Prior to that special prayers are also offered to the presiding deity and Lord Mukhyaprana in a room, where the Sarvajna Peetha is situated and also at Chandrashaale in front of Lord Mukhyaprana.

As many as 150 Brahmin devotees participated in the recital of Vayusthuthi. Recital of Lalitha Sahasranama was also held. Vayusthuthi Punscharana Mahayaga, will be held on January 13.

Speaking to the media, Ananthakrishna Acharya, who led the Vayusthuthi Punascharane Yaaga, said that theists gathered together to pray to God requesting him to help them overcome enmity.
