Udupi, Nov 5: Sacred  Heart Church, Kolalagiri, Udupi has designed several special programs for the upcoming silver jubilee celebration of the church.

The celebration will take place on February 5, 2017, at 6 PM.

With the  co-operation of some organisations and the locals of Kolalagiri, the members of the Catholic Sabha grew 945 Kg paddy in a land of nearly 2 acre.

The land had been kept uncultivated for several years. Das Shetty, the owner of uncultivated land, gave the land away to the Catholic Sabha, free of cost. Catholic Sabha decided to present the crops grown in the land to the poor of all religions in the society, as the part of the silver jubilee celebration.

Another significant contribution of  Sacred Heart Church Kolalagiri is the construction of a road from the church to the graveyard, on the Church's land, on account of the jubilee.

Superior  Carmelita, Fr Felix Moris, blessed the gathering after the Holy Mass held on Saturday, October 29. Parish priest of Sacred Heart Church Kolalagiri Fr Wilfred Frank was present at the occasion.  President of Catholic Sabha Ashwin Roche thanked everyone for cooperating with Catholic Sabha in helping execute their projects for the jubilee.
