Bengaluru, Nov 8: To register BJP’s strong protest against Siddaramaiah regime’s decision to observe Tipu Jayanti this week, the Karnataka BJP unit has decided to observe November 10 as ‘’black day’’ throughout the State and court mass arrests.

State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa, speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Tuesday, said the party urged the State Government to intensify the agitation throughout the State.

In a direct challenge to the State Government, Yeddyurappa warned that the Government will be squarely responsible for any law and order problems in the State on November 10 during the Black Day observation.

Criticising the Congress government in the State for its stubborn insistence on observing Tipu Jayanti despite the public protests and the refusal to ensure protection of RSS workers and leaders, notwithstanding the recent murders of RSS workers, Yeddyurappa said his party would cancel Tipu Jayanti and ban organisations like PFI, SDPI and KFD within 24 hours after coming to power in the next assembly elections.

Yeddyurappa declared that he would meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on November 9 and explain the precarious law and order situation in the State.

“All the cases of murder of RSS/BJP workers that have taken place in Karnataka must be referred to National Investigating Agency (NIA) if truth has to come out,’’ he demanded.

Yeddyurappa declared that the BJP was solidly behind its State General Secretary Shobha Karandlaje, who had recently alleged that Minister Roshan Baig was responsible for the murder of BJP/RSS worker Rudresh leading to filing a defamation case by the minister against Karandlaje.

“If the State Government thinks that we will be cowed down by this (filing of defamation case), it is wrong. Kum Shobha has the support of all the leaders,’’ he asserted.

The State BJP chief challenged the State Government to file a defamation case against him and other leaders.

“The beginning of the end of the Congress in Karnataka has begun. At most, Siddaramaiah can carry on his Tughlak Durbar for one year,’’ he said.
