New Delhi, Nov 10 (Bhaskar) : Cricket being a craze among Indians isn’t unheard of. With galli Cricket being a part of every little kid’s childhood, the sport has maintained its special place in our hearts for years now. But what happens when a 4-year-old who’s supposed to be playing with his toys ends up being a part of the Under-12 Cricket team? That’s right! He dawns headlines unlike any other kid of his age.

Meet the 4-year-old Shayan Jamal from Delhi who at the tender age of 4 has been selected in his school’s under-12 cricket team. Not only does the child prodigy have a sound defensive technique, but his cricketing skills have excelled beyond anyone’s expectations.

Arshad Jamal, his father has been training his little one from the age of 3. A former club level cricketer, he now owns a small-scale business in Delhi, although his major focus has always been to train and guide his son in the sport.

“Shayan’s cricketing sense is strong and he is hungry to play cricket. If I give him a break for a day or two, he begins to pester me, asking me ‘why aren’t we going to the nets!’ His game is natural. I am just trying to mould him,” says the proud father.
