Bengaluru, Nov 13: A gang of six, which used to rob or steal cellphones from the people and then sell them by using OLX website, was arrested by Jayanagara police here.
The arrested members of the gang happen to be Muhammed Harris (20) from Illyasnagar, Shariff (24) from D J Halli, Muhammed Azmal (19) from Valmiki Nagara, Abdul Rahman (49) from D J Halli, Muhammed Azmal from Valmiki Nagara, and Syed Ummer (19) from Vinayakanagar.
The police have recovered 108 cellphones of different companies and also some jewellery, total worth of which is estimated to be over Rs 15 lac.
They had apportioned the work between themselves. Three gang members stole or robbed the cellphones, while the other three were selling them over OLX, policemen sated. None of them did any work, and relied on this work for making easy money, it is learnt.
