Puttur: Woman accidentally falls into pond, drowns

Puttur, Nov 15: In an incident which occurred at Alankaru in the taluk on Monday November 14 morning, a woman accidentally fell into a pond and drowned. The deceased was Savita alias Sundari (28), wife of Mohan from Ujurli in Alankaru.

Savita, native of Dambettimar in Aryapu village, had married Ujurli Mohan about 18 months back. Mohan found to his surprise on Monday morning that Savita was not around. He went searching for her and found that she had drowned in a pond located nearby. He immediately brought her home and called 108 ambulance service for providing her medical treatment.

However, by then Savita had breathed her last. Later, the mortal remains were taken to a hospital at Deralakatte near Mangaluru for postmortem. On the basis of complaint filed by Mohan, Kadaba police have registered a case of unnatural death. They have undertaken investigation into the incident.
