BJP's Vijender Gupta marshalled out from Delhi assembly

New Delhi, Nov 15 (IANS): Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta was on Tuesday marshalled out from the House for creating "hindrance" during Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's address on demonetisation.

Despite repeated warnings from Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, Gupta of the BJP continued to intervene while Kejriwal was speaking on the resolution to urge upon President Pranab Mukherjee to direct the union government to immediately withdraw the "draconian demonetisation" move.

Goel initially asked Gupta to either be silent or leave the House, but when the latter refused to budge, house marshals were called in to escort him out.

Kejriwal had called a special assembly session on the demonetisation of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes.
