Puttur: Recently married lady drowns in pond

Puttur, Nov 17: In a tragic incident which occurred at Kodyady Meginahitlu in Kodimabady village in the taluk on Wednesday November 16, a lady who had married four months back, drowned in a pond.

Pushpa (28), wife of Ashok Gowda from Meginahitlu, lost her life in this incident. Her body was found lying in a pond owned by former taluk panchayat member, Leelavati, about 200 metres away from her home. She had ventured out of her house for the stated purpose of collecting green grass. In a complaint filed at the town police station here, here family members suspected that she would have slipped and fallen into the pond while walking by its side.

Pushpa, daughter of Tyampanna Gowda from Patte in Perabe village in this taluk, had married Ashok from Meginahitlu Kodimbady on July 10 this year. Ashok works as construction worker at Subrahmanya.
