Mangalore: Applications Invited for Rachana Awards-2007

The 'Rachana' award presentation ceremony will be organized on Sunday March 30 at 6.30 pm at the Milagres jubilee hall, in the city in the presence of dignitaries and eminent persons, and it will be presided over by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza, of Mangalore, informed a press note here.
 
According to the note 'Rachana' is a registered body of the Catholic Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) set up in the year 1998. It has instituted the 'Rachana Awards' to honour outstanding individual Catholics originally belonging to Mangalore diocese, all of whom have excelled in their respective spheres.
 
This year too like previous year, four awards have been instituted in various categories by the CCCI viz., Rachana - 'Agriculturist of the year', 'Entrepreneur of the year', 'Professional of the year' (doctors, engineers, lawyers, and chartered accountants) and 'NRI Entrepreneur/Professional of the year.' The said award includes a title, a citation, a memento and a public honour.
 
Interested person may contact with applications, nominations, and recommendations in the prescribed form along with photographs. It must reach the office on or before Friday February 15, at the address given below:

The press note goes on to add that a panel of 12 juries will scrutinize the applications/nominations-recommendations and then will accordingly select the deserving candidates.
