Puttur, Nov 23: In an incident which happened on the evening on Tuesday November 22, a teenager student ended his life by hanging himself at his home.

Keertan (16), son of Yashodhara Poojary from Kodimbala Kudumbur committed suicide in this way. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan. He was a tenth standard student of high school section of government PU college Kadaba.

There was no one else at home when the student decided to commit suicide. It is gathered that Keertan was dithering from attending school. A week back, he had run away from home without informing anyone. After two days, he could be contacted over cellphone, and the family came to know that he was at Mangaluru. The family convinced him to come back home, but he did not attend his classes thereafter. The family too, it is gathered, decided not to pressurize him to attend school.

It is said that the boy prepared to attend school on Tuesday morning. Later, he seemed to have changed his mind, and opted instead to stay home. The fact that Keertan had killed himself came to be known when his younger brother reached home after school hours in the evening.

The deceased is survived by parents and a younger brother. Kadaba police have registered a case of unnatural death.
