BookMyShow charity helps kids perform at Global Citizen Festival

Mumbai, Nov 23 (IANS): BookASmile, the charity initiative of BookMyShow, in collaboration with Music Basti helped 20 underprivileged children to showcase their musical talents at the recently held Global Citizen Festival India (GCFI) 2016 here.

BookMyShow -- online entertainment ticketing brand -- was the exclusive partner for the event, which came together with Music Basti, a Delhi-based NGO.

"BookASmile's collaboration with the Global Citizen Festival India 2016 was the perfect platform to combine our synergies to showcase that talent transcends all boundaries of caste, creed, religion and social status," said Farzana Cama Balpande, Head of BookASmile, in a statement.

The children who hailed from different backgrounds and communities shared the stage with British rock band Coldplay, Jay Z, Demi Lovato and other international artistes.

"We were very excited to have the next generation of great musicians display their musical talent on the Global Citizen India stage. What BookASmile has accomplished is truly unique - making art the centrepiece of young children's lives," said a spokesperson from Global Citizen India.
