Chandigarh, Nov 23 (Agencies) : Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh announced on Wednesday that Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former Rajya Sabha member Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Pargat Singh will join the Congress on November 28. In a tweet, Amarinder Singh said, “I am pleased to announce that Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu & Pargat Singh will formally be joining Congress on November 28.”

No decision has yet been taken on Navjot Singh Sidhu’s entry into the party even as speculation was rife about his joining the Congress. Senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad is reportedly in touch with Sidhu and has made him an offer. Source said Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh has been taken into confidence on the matter.

Sidhu had earlier created a furore in the Congress when he had said that he would join the party only if Amarinder was not in it. He had alleged a nexus between Badals and the state party chief and had said he would not work with him.
