Indian couple shot dead in Philippines


Manila, Nov 24 (IANS): An Indian couple was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne gunmen in Camarines Sur province of the Philippines, the media reported on Thursday.

The victims, killed in the Bicol region in Luzon island, were identified as Bahagwantsingh Buttar, 45, and his wife Jaswinder Kaur, 36, reported news tabloid Tempo. 

They were residents of San Bartolome in Sipocot town of the Camarines Sur province.

According to a report in Journal online, the victims were on their way home when they were repeatedly shot. The victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds on their bodies, causing instantaneous death. 

The authorities arrested the suspects Marvin Magdaong, 40, and Rodolfo Gumatay 53.
