Addressing media persons Siddaraju outlined his vision and said "Media academy has been in existence for the past 33 years. Since government has appointed me as the chairman in May this year, I have taken some steps. When the Supreme Court announced that the deformation case is a criminal offense and not civil, we organized a seminar by inviting retired judge."

Scholarship to postgraduate students in journalism

"Media academy has introduced a new programme wherein we give internship to postgraduates in journalism with major Kannada daily. We also give them scholarship of Rs 10,000 a month for 10months during their internship. The idea is to make them skilled in the field and make them job ready."

Interaction with journalists

"I have requested the chief minister to hold a survey on the social and economic status of the journalists. With the help of the survey it will be very easy for the government to give facilities to the journalists. Revising of Rajiv Gandhi health care benefit, chief minister is enthusiastic to give benefits to the journalists. Now we have to motivate the officials."
