Bomb found near US embassy in Manila


Manila, Nov 28 (IANS): A bomb was found on Monday morning near the US embassy in the Philippines capital, Manila, according to media reports.

Police closed the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard in front of the embassy at around 7.30 a.m. local time, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Manila Police District's bomb squad unit detonated the bomb around 8 a.m. The road were opened to traffic after an hour.

A street sweeper discovered the suspected object in a trash can. It had a cellular phone with black and red wires connected to a black circular object.
