Dubai, Dec 3: Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC), an entity that is registered with Community Development Authority, UAE, and Government of Dubai, UAE, successfully organised a fun-filled family get-together program under the theme 'Ahlan UAE. Let’s make memories together,' at Crescent English School, Al Qusais in Dubai, on Friday, November 25.
It was heartening to see families including children of all age groups arrive with great enthusiasm. The family day out began with a recitation of the national anthem of the UAE and songs of unity by children. Snacks and soft drinks were proffered earlier in the day to energise the participants.
Vice-president, Ismail Mulor, addressed those gathered and explained the motto of KSCC, and said, "This event is meant to strengthen the bond between expat-Indians residing in the UAE, by creating a platform for them to exhibit talents through various activities. It is also meant to encourage adults alongside children, to participate in a variety of events, thereby ensuring stronger familial bonds and a fun-filled evening."
He also spoke of the recent occurrences of social work carried out by the club, like - helping local governing agencies and concerned embassies repatriate the remains of the deceased to their homeland, celebrating International Labour Day, holding the Year of Reading programme, conducting a blood-donation campaign at the Al Ghubaiba metro station.
Exciting and fun-filled games were held to engage the gathering and electrify the audience. Mohammad Faraz Udupi conducted the games, much to everyone's delight. The significant turnout for the family get-together, included elders, youth and children.
The day, rife with fun and pleasure, involved a variety of games and spot prizes for the various age groups. Attractive Prizes were distributed for winners of various categories of events enlisted below -
Events for Children
1)Draw your Dream - Rida Rafiq was declared the winner
2)Little Kalakar (Fancy Dress) - First Place was bagged by Mohammad Zayam and second place by Amin Ibrahim
3)Voice of Ahlan - Zuha Shaikh D/o of Haneef Mohammed was declared the clear winner
4)Battle of Brains (Quiz) - The first prize was secured by 'Team A' comprising Aaminah, Nayab, Aysha Mida and Ziya Mehvish; and second prize by 'Team B' comprising Bilaal, Mohammed Aquib, Ammar and Hafiz.
Events for Men:
1)King of Moves (Chess) - Mohammad Haneef took home the prize
2)Nishanebaaz (Dart Game) - First Prize was secured by Sayed Irfan and the second Prize by Abdul Rahman
3)Sultan (Arm Wrestling) - Mohammad Yaqub
4)Men in Tradition - First place was bagged by Ibrahim Dubal and second prize by Shahadath Thumbay
Events for Women:
1)Dessert Queen - Shifa Fathima won the first prize, and Nayala Faruq, the second
2)Mehndi Contest- Pamshira Faqruddin bagged the first place, and Shabreena Ershad, the second.
3)Creative Touch (Craft) - Asma Thaseen bagged the first place, and Saba Shareef, the second.
Everyone enjoyed the lavish and scrumptious evening snacks and a grand dinner buffet by Tandoor Caterers. Further, as a felicitation to support the guests and participants, Malbar Gold and Diamonds sponsored Raffle Draw for diamond ring was held.
The committee members successfully and systematically coordinated the event. The fun-filled day and its success is owed to each office bearer and committee member. Each did his best to put up a successful event which was enjoyed and appreciated by all present.
Mohammad Faraz Udupi and Zunaid compered the event, well supported by the rest of the managing committee members. The Iqbal Pandeshwar Team captured beautiful moments of the entire event. Thank-you goodie bags were distributed to all the children.
Chief guest for the prize distribution event was Mohammad Akarm, managing director, Al Sitara Gulf Contracting and General Maintenance; and Siddik Uchil from BWF, Abu Dhabi, and president of KSCC Janab Ashraf Ali were also present for conclusion of the program. KSCC thanked the management of Crescent English School for providing the school premises and facilities, the judges, volunteers and all who participated and helped make the event a grand success. Club Secretary, gave due credit to those who contributed to making the day a memorable one.
