Former AAP Siolim candidate joins Goa Forward Party

Panaji, Dec 12 (TOI): Equating the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with Portuguese colonizers, former AAP candidate Siolim Prithvi Amonkar on Sunday joined hands with the Goa Forward Party (GFP).

“About 500 year ago, 1,000 Portuguese had travelled to Goa in two boats. Similarly, 100 Delhi people have camped in Goa and want to change the state. They think they can solve our issues, but when you ask them for solutions, they have none,” Amonkar said, as he pledged his support to Goa Forward’s Siolim candidate Vinod Palyekar.
Talking to the media during the induction of Amonkar, Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward’s mentor Vijai Sardesai declared that GFP will try to expose the lies of AAP.
“It is a dictatorial party where the selection process is suspicious. I agree with Manohar Parrikar’s remark that AAP is Delhi’s pollution. They are outsiders who are here to colonize Goa,” Sardesai said.

The party also attacked the BJP-led state government over the issue of the outline development plan (ODP). Sardesai levelled allegations of corruption in the implementation of the ODP. “The ODPs have become BJP’s ATMs for election funds. We will write to the Election Commission and all other authorities, which the Prime Minister says are there to keep a track of black money,” the Fatorda MLA said, adding that the government is ignoring every other stakeholder’s pleas to continue with the finalization of the ODP in a haste.

“Three MLAs, the Margao Municipal Council, as well as, the PWD departments have asked the government for some time before implementing the ODP. But the government is ignoring everything to deliver an incomplete plan which does not reflect the ground reality.”
