Udupi, Jan 23: People's awareness convention organized by BJP was held at Kaup near here on Tuesday, January 22.
Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in his presidential address said that despite Deve Gowda being regarded as ‘true son of the soil,’ he has been ungrateful to the state and it is unfortunate that he was born in our state. Deve Gowda and his family ought to seek an apology from the Kannadigas, Yeddyurappa urged.
Although the state has been under President’s rule, it seems that the governor’s office has been turned into Congress office. The governor has not taken any actions in presenting the budget for this year. In spite of that BJP bagged many seats in the local governance across the state while Congress has been causing obstacles in governance. Moreover, if the governor does not remove the obstacles within a week, seige would be laid to his office, Yeddyurappa threatened.
After the convention, Yeddyurappa visited Sri Halamariyamma Temple, Kaup, Sri Kalikamba Temple, Katpady and Sri Kalahathyethra Saraswati Temple.
Kaup block BJP president, Ravindra Shetty Kollabettu welcomed the gathering. General secretary Kuthyar Naveen Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
State BJP president D V Sadanand Gowda, ex-minister Dr V S Acharya, MLCs Shobha Karandlaje Capt Ganesh Karnik, ex-MLAs Yogish Bhat, Raghupathy Bhat, veteran BJP leaders Sheela K Shetty, Katpady Shankar Poojary, Gerald Fernandes, Vijay Karkera, Gladys Almeida, Ravindranath Hegde, district BJP president Kota Srinivas Poojary, Kaup ex-MLA Lalaji R Mendon and others were present.
