Notebandi will meet same fate as Congress's Nasbandi: Lalu Prasad

Patna, Dec 17 (IANS): RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision of demonetisation saying it has failed and will meet the same fate as Congress's forced sterilisation in the mid-70s during the Emergency.

Lalu also threatened to launch a protest against the anti-people decision of demonetisation along with like minded parties including ally JD-U in Bihar after the 50-day deadline fixed by Modi.

"Notebandi Ka Wahi Haal Hoga Jo Congress Ka Nasbandi Ka Hua (Notebandi will meet the same fate as forced sterilisation)," Lalu said while addressing his Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party leaders including legislators and workers here.

Lalu also termed 'Notebandi' as 'Farzibandi' over the people. "It is not notebandi, it is farzibandi that has put common people in deep trouble," Lalu said, adding that Modi has cheated the people.

Lalu reminded Modi of his promise made during the Lok Sabha polls of bringing back black money stashed abroad.

"Black money has not come back and Rs 15 lakh, which Narendra Modi promised, has not been deposited in anyone's bank account," he said.

Lalu has been opposing demonetisation since November, unlike his ally Janata Dal-United President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is supporting it.
