Mumbai, Dec 19: Marking the 120th birth anniversary of Bharath Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar, 'Horanada Utsava', a cultural tribute to the exceptional man, was held at Vanitha Samaja auditorium, Dadar West on December 17.
The programme was jointly held by Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, and Southern Zonal Center of Culture, Maharashtra.
Here, four books written by Mumbai's author and columnist, Ravi R Anchan were released. These books were published by the department of Kannada and culture, Bengaluru, and Swara Print and Publications, Bengaluru.
Chief organiser Ravindranath Shirawar welcomed the gathering. Jogila Siddaraj compered the programme. Joint director of Kannada and Culture Department, Government of Karnataka - Ashok N Chalavadi, proposed the vote of thanks.
Karnataka and Maharashtra state cultural programme comprised of Janapada music, dance skits, seminar, drawing camp, poem recitals, and light music and dance. More than 20 artists from Karnataka, 10 poets, and 270 artistes of Janapada, different leaders of the organisations, and resource persons were present at the programme.
